EXPLORER 37 - Christian De La Huerta

HOW TO STEP INTO YOUR POWER

SHOW NOTES

Our guest today is Christian de la Huerta, a sought-after personal transformation coach, and leading voice in the breathwork community. In this episode, we talk about the importance of doing the inner work, the transformative power of breathwork, and the value of practicing forgiveness.

Christian’s Journey

“We're living in the most critical juncture in the evolution of humanity.”

Christian was born in Cuba and lived there for the first 10 years of his life. When his family immigrated to the United States, Christian didn’t speak English, and he was very shy and introverted.

Christian always had a sense of mission, and he knew he wanted to make a change in the world. At first, he wanted to become a priest. Towards the end of his 20s, Christian realized, that what he was really searching for, was to reconnect with and express his spirituality. He turned to Eastern religions and indigenous traditions and soon came across the practice of breathwork whihc changed his life forever.

The Power Of Breathwork

“Breathwork gives us the experience of who we really are, of ourselves as the stadium.“

Through breathwork, Christian understood how the ego-mind works, and how we are way bigger than what our egos make us believe. The ego is a leap in evolution, but it is also the source of our suffering.

The way Christian is using and teaching breathwork is a feminine approach, and it is the practice of surrendering to the breath.

Power And Forgiveness

“If you want to step into your power, if you want to have a sense of peace, and a life that is filled with meaning and purpose, you've got to start with self-awareness.”

According to Christian, the single most important thing that needs to happen in the world is the empowerment of women. If women would have 50% of power, we would have a different relationship to war, poverty, justice and the distribution of wealth.

Christian talks about how many people give away their power, because they are afraid of the responsibility of it. However, there is nothing to be afraid of. To step into our authentic selves and reclaim our own power, we need self-awareness and self-mastery.

Another way to empower and free ourselves is to practice forgiveness. It is hard to forgive people who wronged us, but true forgiveness is more for us than for them.

Palma’s Reflection On Power and Forgiveness

This week, we invite you to reflect on your relationship to power and forgiveness.

Make e a list of all the people in your life that have wronged you in any way and all the people that you have wronged. Then practice forgiveness. Go through the list and first pick the people who are the easiest to forgive. Practice this like a mantra, and it will become easier and easier over time.
